Requirements:Which devices will ChessGenius run on? |
It runs on all
Windows powered Smartphone devices! All Smartphone 2002, 2003, 2003SE and Windows Mobile WM 5.0, 6.0 devices. ChessGenius is a very compact program and only requires 175 KB memory. |
| Please
explain in detail how to install ChessGenius onto my Smartphone. |
1)
Download the file "ChessGenius_SmartP.exe" to your desktop
computer. Click here to download now 2) Connect your Smartphone to your desktop computer. 3) Run "ChessGenius_SmartP.exe" on your desktop computer. 4) ChessGenius will now be installed into the games directory on your Smartphone. You can start it by choosing: Programs -> Games -> ChessGenius 5) You will now be able to run the unregistered ChessGenius. To unlock the full features you must Buy/Register ChessGenius. You will then be sent a License Key by email which you enter into ChessGenius on your Smartphone. (Run ChessGenius and select "About" from the menu and then "Register".) Advanced, MAC and Unix users and may prefer a .CAB file. Click here to download ChessGenius[1].ARM.CAB now. Move the CAB file to your Smartphone using infrared, bluetooth, email or ActiveSync. Execute the CAB file on your Smartphone and go to step 4) above. |

much do program updates cost? |
Updates are free for registered users. |
| I
have bought ChessGenius, what happens if I upgrade or replace my
Smartphone device. Will I need a new License? Is there a charge? |
The
License Key system is designed to prevent wholesale copying of the
program, not to make life difficult for owners. Most times a new License Key will not be required. If you do need a new or updated License Key - for any reason - we are always happy to send them to any registered user. There is no charge for this. |

I bought ChessGenius more than 48 hours ago and have not received my
License Key. What should I do? |
Send an email to support@chessgenius.com. The most common reason for delay is that we are unable to contact you due to a miss-spelling or typing error in the email address that was quoted on your order. |
| How
do I castle with ChessGenius? |
To
castle move your king two squares to the right or left. If castling is
legal ChessGenius will accept the move and move your rook. Castling is legal if the king and rook have not moved before in the game, the king is not in check and the squares that the king moves through are not attacked. For a better explanation and an excellent tutorial see www.chesscorner.com |

What is the rating of ChessGenius? |
It is probably around 2250 USCF. |

What about Hash tables? |
ChessGenius has
hash tables. Hash tables are used to store parts of the search tree. If ChessGenius encounters a position already in the hash table the result can be retrieved from the table thus saving search time. |

How can I transfer a game from my Palm device to my Desktop PC? |
ChessGenius for the Smartphone reads and writes to a standard PGN file called Database.pgn in the 'Program Files\ChessGenius' folder. It is possible to transfer this file to/from a desktop PC with the Explore feature of ActiveSync. This file can be read by almost all desktop chess programs. |

PGN
is "Portable Game Notation", a standard representation of chess
game data in ASCII text files. It is used by most chess software. For full
